Get out of here with your weather voodoo (Evangelical Jesus)

October 2021

“Things are going a little rough for the Biden administration. It’s been nine months, and at this point he might have to deliver his agenda by caesarean.” —Stephen Colbert

The president’s signature legislation, the $3.5 Trillion Build Back Better plan that would institute universal pre-K, expand Medicare and enact climate protections, has been stuck in negotiations for months. Earlier this week, the administration announced the bill would be scaled back to $1.9 Trillion. They’re also scaling back the bill’s name from Build Back Better to Ack!” —Stephen Colbert

“Between that, Covid, inflation and supply chain issues, among other things, Biden’s approval rating reached a new low this week of 37%. To put that in context, that was the previous guy’s rating right after Charlottesville. Imagine Biden’s aides telling that to their boss – ‘Mr President, the polls are in. The good news: you’re holding strong at Nazi sympathizer.’” —Stephen Colbert

“There is an understudied and controversial employment loophole that allows disabled people to be paid less than minimum wage, some as low as 22 cents an hour. How can a wage be lower than the minimum wage? Minimum is supposed to be the minimum. It’s like when the weatherman says ‘it’s below freezing out there’. Yo man, once something is frozen, it’s frozen. Get out of here with your weather voodoo.” —Trevor Noah

I scream, you scream, we all scream ‘where’s the f*cking ice cream?! (Ben & Jerry’s least popular flavors)

October 2021

“Global supply chain issues are plaguing American supermarkets. Because of Covid lockdowns and labor shortages and a lack of shipping containers, everything you want is either not made yet, stuck on a boat, or waiting for a trucker who can’t drive because the Gatorade bottle he needs to pee in is stuck on a boat or hasn’t been made yet. Now, global supply chain problems are leading to empty shelves at grocery stores. It’s so bad that Whole Foods has had to change their name to ‘Part Foods’.” —Stephen Colbert

“Supply chain issues have left shelves bare of fish sticks, frozen meals and, in a devastating blow to divorced dads, Marie Callender’s pot pies. Brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, because America is running low on Ben & Jerry’s. I scream, you scream, we all scream ‘where’s the fucking ice cream?!’” —Stephen Colbert

“The company said it will focus on producing its most popular flavors – including Colbert’s own Americone Dream – but you might be in trouble if you prefer one of Ben & Jerry’s less popular flavors, like Chunks of Real Monkey, Cherry Orbach, and Inattentive Hubby. The most concerning blow is a shortage of wine. Frozen foods? Fine. Candy? Who needs it. But a wine shortage? Me and my book club are buying zip ties and storming the Capitol. The shortage is due in part to a ‘glass bottle crunch’ – incidentally, ‘glass bottle crunch’ is one of Ben & Jerry’s least popular flavors.” —Stephen Colbert
